Canvas Hat Water Boil
Demonstrating how you can boil water with a canvas hat. I use a re-purposed canvas hat
from Realdealbrazil.com. I have done a review on their hats in a past video and I mentioned I used it to boil water. This is the long lost video of that event I was asked to post.

    Just twist the tape as it comes off the role.get one single cord that can then be twisted into cordage.the length of that cord is limited to your patience and how much tape is on the role.less splices equals less failure points,so generally it's better to work with as long of a cord as feasible

    I bought one of these when I saw Woody wear it on Zombieland. I love the story behind them and I’ll tell you, they survive anything! Like it says, “Don’t take care of this hat, it’ll take care of you.” And it sure does. 😉

    Appreciate you making this video, even if it’s 9yo lol. I just purchased a hat online last night and went with a medium. I’m a 7-1/8” PC and cowboy hat so was second guessing the medium until your comment on running larger. I think I’m on the right track. Keep rocking that hat, I’m sure you or someone’s still got it !

    Where did you get 29 degree from

    • @dwaynerobertson383
      @dwaynerobertson383 2 роки тому

      It's arbitrary. He could use 329 degrees, 009 degrees, 299 degrees; it is only an example. Pick any azimuth you like, the lesson remains the same.

    I can't imagine what sort of ultimate Murphy fest would require me to do that, but it's good to know that it can be done. If you only need hot water for washing it might not be too bad. The water would have no parasites, but the sweat, grime and ashes that would need filtering out really makes it a super hard sell. Without filtration you could wind up drinking a really weak form of soap. Any resulting diarrhea would only make any dehydration worse. I'll use this video as inspiration to make every effort to prevent ever needing to boil water in my hat. For that it earns a thumbs up.

    Is it a good idea to use the information that you've provided but instead sleeping up in the trees... I would probably put like spikes on an incline facing down the trees I'm sleeping in.. basically a raised platform shelter 20 feet up..

    Man has *NEVER* set one of these up in his life and caught anything with it. The prop stick will sink into the ground and to stop that you need to put a rock or something solid under it. He did not tell you that because what I said is true. He has never set one up and checked it the next day or he would know that. He props the rock up too vertically. He would know that if he had ever made meat with one....

  • @JEHIAHL

    Good simple trap. If you’d adjust the angle of your rock to less than 45* and lengthen your bait stick a slight bit you could have an effective trap.

    _16:15__ ... No offence, but HOW DARE you compare this three dollar cheap piece of crap to a Military Cammenga Lensic Compass. In fact every compass you have there are garbage and you are doing an injustice by even showing this garbage to beginners, educate yourself before attempting to teach others._

    I do live in an area with plenty of Black Bears and a few Mountain lions and many coyote they will come around after dark and look for anyfood they can find but I have a large English Setter and he always alerts me when any critters are outside after dark and when I am hiking or camping in the mountains I qlways have my 44 mag.with me .but I try and make plenty of noise so the Bears have plenty of notice that I am around ,but when fall gets here I will have a Bear tag in my pocket and they will need to watch out for me.because I love Bear stew

    I wouldn't worry about the magnesium in your coffee. A one-day vitamin has a little bit of magnesium to give a spark to your body. What you can do is take a little Gaffers tape put your magnesium chip's on the tape. Then put a few little Twigs or whatever you want to put it in. Roll it up & you can pre-make these. In wet weather place in Kettering light with lighter add sticks slowly
